The Canarys are a DIY power duo playing alt, punk, and indie rock.

Alexander Hollins, on guitar and vocals, pairs thoughtful lyrics with heavy emotional guitars, while Marco Saah plays huge driving and grooving drums inspired by hip-hop and R&B. The combined sound is fierce, melodic, and deep in the pocket. It’s Jack White and Queens of the Stone Age mixed with Lucy Dacus, Pixies, and Arctic Monkeys.

The music grew from the practice rooms of Loyola University New Orleans. Alexander and Marco were both freshman Popular and Commercial Music students, learning the sounds of one of the most musical cities in the world. They wanted to be more than just a two-piece, but they clicked so well they realized that the music was at its best when it was played by just the two of them.
